Gosh, don't you just dear it when an accommodation takes its source material and systematically strips it of everything that made it unique until what'south left is a story that doesn't stand out in any way whatsoever? I certain don't!Wait, I become it - the original novel is night and it deals with upsetting and sensitive material. But its those things that set it apart from its brethren and make Violette more than just another reformed villainess, because the novel makes you question whether she e'er was the existent villain in the commencement identify. Past robbing the story of most of Violette'due south trauma and fast-tracking the plot, it becomes just another story in a very crowded genre, full of cookie-cutter characters rather than people with their own motivations and inner lives.
I might have liked this more had I not read the novel showtime, so if you're planning to read both, starting time hither for less disappointment. But if y'all're merely going to read one version, go for the original. This is a case where it really is meliorate.

VIDEO REVIEW Here: https://youtu.exist/7tFSaqZn9SMI can't believe I let this book sit on my shelf for so long! I've had this sitting on my shelf since June and later reading information technology this evening for the 25 Days of Manga, that is farrrr too long to accept let this sat in that location doing goose egg!
What an first-class read this was! I remember picking this up for the cover during a manga shopping video I filmed and because I remembered a friend recommended information technology on her Instagram. However, I distinctly remember this also beingness around the time that I started showing more than involvement in the reincarnated-as-the-villainess trope, only was leery to attempt that "genre" and chose this one since time rewinds back a year.
In a manner, I think I enjoyed this more than? Well, maybe not more per say , but it was dissimilar because Violette isn't trying to right the wrongs of anyone who had suddenly died. There is no changing of memories and trying to figure out what happened. It's more of Violette is nevertheless the same person, just now has the strong want to not make the aforementioned mistakes that led her to prison house the first fourth dimension. Even with going back in time, she nonetheless doesn't beloved her half-sister despite her second gamble, and for that, I was very intrigued.
This was a fairly quick read since information technology'due south not a long manga, but I as well devoured that last portion of the book! I actually enjoyed how things are not what they were from when Violette remembers because now her "skilful" deportment are irresolute things around her, including how people react. Information technology is so good and loving that "twist"!
With that, I'one thousand going to add together that I am hardcore #TeamYulan! I will be And then bummed if he is not the one Violette chooses in the end. Prince Claudia seems he will have a change of eye and don't think a sure someone that is non Yulan or Claudia will actually exist a potential love interest? Goodness, I hope non! (Even though I like the character well enough.) I just really dearest her friendship with Yulan and appreciated that bonus chapter/story at the end. I would even be content with them just staying best friends and nothing more. Only please don't let Violette end up with Prince Claudia or anyone else!
The art in this manga is admittedly stunning! It has a lightness that I really enjoyed. And speaking of, while I have heard the manga version is a MUCH lighter version of the light novel, I really enjoyed and appreciated the lighter tones. It was a good read when I needed something a petty lighter!
I'll definitely be ordering book two as soon as I can and keeping up with time to come releases hence forth as I must know what happens next!

This was a lot better than I thought! I was agape this was going to be a shameless "My Next Life as a Villainness..." knock off, simply it definitely has enough of its own ideas to stand on its own. The two things I loved the most was how important self-reflection played a role and how chivalry is seen in series like these. While Violette has to reverberate on her actions in lodge to avert making the same mistakes, what I appreciate is that she acknowledges that what she did was wrong. Not simply that, just she even admits at times that its understandable how she got into the situation she was in considering of her past actions. Granted, I feel like this would hold more than weight if readers actually got to SEE the terrible stuff Violette did to Maryjune or Claudia, but what'southward washed is done. Still, I appreciate her giving her by serious thought and properly acknowledging what she did wrong and why information technology was incorrect.
I really appreciated Yulan calling out Claudia for his supposed "knightly" too as opening up that give-and-take in the series. It hadn't occurred to me until Violette and Yulan brought it up, but in situations like these (Violette bullying Maryjune, Claudia standing up for her and falling in love with her) how common yet absurd it is. It pretty much shows that Claudia, and other men who behave similar him, aren't interested in girls like Maryjune as much as readers think; he'south just playing the role of the white knight, saving and protecting the damsel-in-distress from her enemies. But as this series shows, when Maryjune isn't in that situation, Claudia has no interest in her. I know this isn't annihilation new and I'thousand sure other amusement mediums accept discussed this, but I appreciate it beingness brought up mostly because I didn't expect information technology.
Anyway, I really enjoyed this offset volume and am looking forrard to more. If you're looking for a fun historical romance with a dark undertone, give this a try.

This was so much amend than I expected! We follow a young duke's girl named Violette, who tries to murder her illegitimate one-half-sister. She passes out in prison and wakes upward one year earlier the events have place, with a hazard to redo her past mistakes.

I love the art, it had all of the romance fluffy feels. Prince Yulan is my favorite, he's my infant and needs to be protected at all cost. I highly recommend this if you lot're looking for a romance with a unlike spin on the isekai formula.
Violette was sentenced to death for attempting murder on her half-sister. However, she was eventually placed in jail due to her young sis'south mercy. While in her cell, Violette wishes she could re-practise her life. That wish comes true.

Flashing back a yr prior to the sentence, she is able to re-practice her actions and modify her catastrophe. I accept to say while I do non agree with the deportment Violette previously makes in her by, I do understand where she is coming from as a child who was practically neglected/thrown to the side. (view spoiler)[ Her begetter has an matter with his concubine which results in her trivial sister, he creates a new family while treating Violette with a cold disdain and her mother, on her death bed, states her she wanted her husband not her daughter next to her. (hide spoiler)].
I actually really love Violette every bit a grapheme so far. Her little sis is not bad either. I'm enjoying seeing Violette open up her eyes towards the world she missed as she was blinded past her acrimony previously. It is also interesting to watch how the prince is in somewhat turmoil with his feelings towards her. I normally dislike the thought or possibility of honey triangles, but I practise not mind this 1.
As well, I'm excited to encounter where this goes.

I Swear I Won't Bother You Again! follows our MC, Violette, who is guilty of attempting to murder her younger half-sister out of a fit of jealousy. In her final moment, she is taken back in time when her sister was first introduced in her life. Violette decides to take this opportunity to avoid repeating her previous mistakes that ultimately led to her death.
When I outset read it, I thought it was really refreshing to meet the story's unique take within the larger otome isekai genre. That is to say, there are a lot of series that focus on our master heroine being reincarnated into a romance game or novel usually as the villainess or side grapheme. However, this was the first series where I saw the main incident beingness related to time travel rather than reincarnation. Yet, it however hits the same beats every bit previous reincarnation stories.
I won't lie, I don't think everyone will be interested in this series. Yet, if yous really like the genre or enjoyed My Next Life every bit A Villainess, then I'd recommend picking this one up!
